Don't expect anyone in Mainstream media to admit to this little embarrassing nugget of truth.

According to the Financial Management Service, and reported on at Zerohedge.com, the treasury boosted its distribution of social security payments to Americans in December by nearly 70% compared to the rest of 2009 in a feeble attempt to convince shoppers the economy was improving and there was more income available to spend.

This begs the question: Just how pathetic will Congress (this includes BOTH parties) and the administration become in its efforts to lie its way out of this depression?

I can't wait to find out what bullchit they'll try next.
